Today Was A Good Day...

This poem is amazing. Something that not only women should read.

Chevron is God’s gift to my car

For the last week, the check engine light has been on in my car. I took it to Nissan, they said that I didn’t close the nozzle on my tank. I was like cool, it’ll go off in a few days. A few days later, the light is still on and my car is having orgasmic shakes. So I took it to my mechanic where he told me that one of the converters in my car wasn’t working. I’m thinking, “Dear God, what am I going to do? I don’t have a job and my income tax refund isn’t due to show up for another 2-4 weeks.” So I figured I just won’t drive my car unless its absolutely necessary and within a 10 mile radius. (AAA card will tow within 7 miles.)

So as I was out today, I figured let me go put gas in my car. This time, I’m going to use Chevron. Lo and behold, my check engine light went off. I’m assuming the techron is adding the oxygen to my car that the converter isn’t doing which will hold me off until the check comes. Thank God for Chevron.

IT’S THE FIRST OF THE MONTH

HAPPY MAY 1st!!

There’s so much to look forward to this month. I’m turning 22 for the fourth time or as some of you like to call it, 25. I have some big cake orders this month that I’m really excited about. (place an order if you haven’t already). I get my business cards in a about a week. And by God’s grace, my unemployment worries will alleviate itself, in some form or another. Plus I’ve decided to go back to eating chicken on my actual birthday. It will culminate 2 years and 22 days of no meat. (solo blog about this experience to come)

Through my misfortunes, I still remain blessed. Last night, I went to bed worried and troubled. I woke up this morning, kneeled down and prayed. This shall be a great month!!

I’m so addicted to this song right now.

Update: Makings of a better me

So normally I get on here and I’ll reblog a blog or link a video or picture or a random quote. I think blogs should get back to people sharing insight into themselves without being boring. So I’ll make this quick and as entertaining as possible *shakes head*.

For the last two years, I have been a pescatarian (no meat, just seafood and veggies). This has been a costly lifestyle but I was able to maintain for two years. However, while I enjoyed this, I have noticed that I have been feeling a tad weaker, my protein levels are not as great and my hair refuses to grow (this is debilitating to any girl). With all that said…I’m going back to chicken. I know of a few people are would probably be very happy with this. But its not chicken all the time, just once or twice a week to maintain my protein levels but also to focus in on eating more vegetables.

Which brings me to my next point, I’m going to try having natural hair for the summer. We’ll see how well this goes simply because my hair has a mind of its own.

All in all, my goal for the summer is healthy eating and healthy hair. *crosses fingers* Wish me luck!!

Father, I stretch my hands to thee. Crying Lord, remember me.

I try not to think
About the pain I feel inside
Did you know you used to be my hero?
All the days you spent with me
Now seem so far away
And it feels like you don’t care anymore

And now I try hard to make it
I just want to make you proud
I’m never gonna be good enough for you
I can’t stand another fight
And nothing’s alright

‘Cuz we lost it all
Nothing lasts forever
I’m sorry
I can’t be perfect
Now it’s just too late and
We can’t go back
I’m sorry
I can’t be perfect

The song I sing when God pulls me through.

Be blessed everyone!!

Is it too much, to ask…in life, to have nothing but the sweetest things?
